But creating content and telling a story are not the same thing.

The skill nobody talks about anymore

I came across something on social media the other day that stopped my scroll. A trend where creators sell letter writing packages. I was intrigued, so I did what I always do. I researched it.

And it turned into a bigger realization than I expected. It was literally what it said... letters writing. Teaching creators to write letters... as in, storytelling. 'Cause yeah. It is a skill.

Here's what struck me. We live in an era overflowing with content creators. They're talented. They can capture attention, build community, and move people to buy. That's a real skill, and it has real value.

But creating content and telling a story are not the same thing.

Most creators are not PR professionals. They're not marketing strategists. They can influence a purchase, but that doesn't mean they know how to write your story, position your authority, or carry the weight of who you are and why you matter.

So the question isn't "do I need a content creator?" The question is "what does my business actually need?"

Sometimes the answer is simple. If it's a quick post and the story is being told another way, you may just need someone who can create. That's enough.

But if it's your story? If it's your positioning, your authority, the reputation you're building in your industry? That calls for more than content. That calls for someone who understands communications. Someone who can write, who can strategize, who can shape meaning and not just capture a moment.

There's value in all of it. The skill is knowing the difference.

That's the difference between content and communications. That's where I come in.
