Social Restaurant: A New Orleans Experience
After my last post about a disappointing ceviche experience, I have to give credit where credit is due...
If you're looking for a ceviche that honors tradition while still feeling elevated, @social.restaurant absolutely delivers.
This is what happens when culinary artistry and respect for the ingredients meet.
The ceviche was everything I hoped for... bright, balanced, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Just TASTY!!! Every bite reminded me why I fell in love with ceviche growing up in Honduras and Guatemala, and later enjoying incredible Peruvian ceviche while living in Miami.
Then came the paella... and wow.
One thing I especially appreciated was that they offered the option to add octopus. I absolutely love octopus in my paella, and it was the perfect addition. Rich, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented- it was every bit as delicious as it was stunning.
In fact, every dish that arrived at our table looked like a work of art. THE CALAMARI! YUM. And the arroz con leche. But unlike so many places that focus only on presentation, every single plate delivered on flavor. Each course somehow managed to outdo the last.
The entire meal was accompanied by the soothing rhythms of salsa music, creating the perfect backdrop for a leisurely lunch. Then, when it came time to celebrate my friend's birthday, the restaurant shifted gears for a few fun moments, turning up the energy with music, lights, and a festive club-like celebration that had everyone smiling. It was the perfect complement to an already wonderful dining experience.
A huge thank you to Eduardo Henao, who was hands down one of the best hosts and servers I've had in a long time. He anticipated every detail, made thoughtful recommendations, and made us feel genuinely cared for from the moment we sat down until the very end.
Beautiful presentation.
Authentic flavors.
Exceptional service.
A culinary delight from beginning to end.
This is what elevated dining should be: honoring the integrity of the food while creating an experience that delights every sense.
Highly recommend.
