A Pirate’s Life for me: New Orleans
Just another Friday in the French Quarter.
You're walking down Royal Street when suddenly, at Lafitte's... pirates. Full tricorn hats, cutlasses swinging, the whole beautiful mess.
One thing I love about my life is all of the diverse circles I get to swim in. This Friday, I was honored to add pirate friends. Learned lots about this beautiful culture.
This weekend, Thee Leviathan 504 called in scalawags and seadogs from everywhere for The Annual NOLA Pirate Gathering, and the Quarter is alive with it. Costumed chaos, themed revelry, and that particular brand of joy that only happens when a whole crew shows up ready to play.
Because this is what we do here. We throw open the doors, leave expectations at the threshold, and laissez les bons temps rouler, with people who came dressed for the occasion.
So, pirates in the Quarter on a Friday? Of course.
This is home port.
